One More Week To Contribute To The ‘Climate Hope Anthology’ Crowdfunder!
As it enters its final week, the crowdfunder for Create The Future’s ‘Climate Hope Anthology’ is just £100 away from a stretch target, allowing more people to share in the creative vision for a better future and address climate anxiety.
Following an incredible display of support, Create The Future’s crowdfunder for its ‘Climate Hope Anthology’ achieved its initial donation target of £500 within just two weeks of running. Thanks to the generosity of all those who have pledged to back the project, this inspiring initiative has now received the funding required to produce a limited physical print-run of the publication which can be strategically distributed to increase the anthology’s impact, as well as providing the organisation with the opportunity to promote the anthology through social media and advertising campaigns.
Through offering a story of hope and empowerment, the ‘Climate Hope Anthology’ seeks to combat the paralysing feelings of anxiety and despair towards our futures and the future of the planet in light of the abundance of communication surrounding the climate crisis which focuses on fear, and the immobility and sense of powerlessness that this produces as a result.
Through short stories, poetry, art pieces, and interviews with experts, the anthology covers themes including life in 50 years’ time, our connection to the living world, and the futures of energy, housing, education, and rewilding. With contributors such as Octopus Energy, Delphis Eco, and Lammas Eco Village, alongside the visionary imagination of schoolchildren and creative writers, the Create The Future ‘Climate Hope Anthology’ provides a platform for a range of voices to share a depth of inspiring perspectives. The anthology is for readers of all ages and backgrounds, reminding us all that there is a story to be told which is not defined by fear and avoidance, but one where we have a choice.
Thrilled by the displays of generosity and support so far, Create The Future Founder & Programme Manager Emma Turner is also excited for what the project could achieve with just a little more funding:
“We are incredibly grateful for all of the support we have already received, especially recognizing the financial difficulties faced by many people right now. The understanding and generosity of our supporters has been incredibly humbling and heartwarming. We hope to be able to give something back in the form of an uplifting collection of creative writing, artwork and interviews – and reaching our stretch target of £750 will allow us to reach more people, not just through digital media but also through physical copies of the book and in-person events with local communities.”
Now aiming for a new ‘stretch target’, the potential impact of the ‘Climate Hope Anthology’ has expanded once again as it seeks the additional funding required to share its message of inspiration and hope with an even greater audience. With further support, the project and its message would be able to benefit from:
- An enhanced launch event featuring paid speakers and improved accessibility features, allowing the anthology to attract significantly more attention
- Improved social media promotion and a more substantial advertising campaign for both the anthology and the launch event, expanding the project’s reach
- An increased print run of an improved publication, with the opportunity to distribute physical copies beyond the UK and to interested groups
- Free in-person launch events, free writing workshops, and sessions for families, to further spread the vision of Create The Future
With one week left for the crowd-funder to reach its new target, there’s still time to join the project, support a vision of hope and inspire empowered action!
