The Future Is Bright

The Future is Bright is a new project Create the Future is launching to celebrate the seasons and the hope each of them brings. We are running a competition to find high-quality creative work to feature in a 2025 Environmental Calendar. The current theme is SPRING.

SPRING SUBMISSIONS

What we are looking for:

We are seeking environmental and ecological artwork which imagines what Spring might look like in a future where climate action has led to a thriving world of biodiversity, sustainability, community, resilience, reform, and hope.

Which climate solutions do you think will shine in the Spring seasons of our future? What kind of food will be eaten and grown? What does your city/town/landscape look and feel like in this future spring? What kinds of flowers will be in bloom?

Show us the kind of future you’d love to live in and what Springtime means for that place. We celebrate climate visions rooted in hope and climate justice, showing the way to a greener, fairer world.

Submissions guidelines

We are particularly keen on visual artwork but are also open to poems (of up to 16 lines) or short flash-fiction/micro-fiction pieces (up to 250 words).

We’ll be looking for these core elements:

  • Spring theme
  • Creative climate solutions
  • Hope in action
  • Visions of the future
