Schools and parents

We are looking for schools, parents, libraries and community group coordinators to collect entries from children aged 5-12 for a brand new competition that encourages imagination and self-belief through the creation of a ‘postcard from the future’.

Winning entries will be displayed in the anthology alongside top creative writers, campaigners and academics.

We will provide free resources:

Writers and journalists

We are looking for budding writers to volunteer their time and creativity to help us create a stronger, brighter, fairer vision of our collective future.

We’d like to know what fascinates you and enchants you about the future, what bring you hope and lifts you from the darkness. What lights the fire within and what keeps it burning when the headlines try to dampen it.

We’d like solutions-based journalism, deep-dives into circular economies and what a green new deal might mean for your neighbour. We want interviews with changemakers and leaders, experts and everyday heroes. We’re looking for listicles and long-reads, well-researched thought pieces and shorter personal essays.

Whatever you’ve got, we want to know! We’ll support you throughout the whole process, from refining your idea to writing the first draft, teasing out the key arguments and editing it to a publishable piece.

And best of all you’ll be published with Create The Future on our new online platform which celebrates that a better future is possible – and that we can all be a part of it.

We are always open to writers with fresh, bold new ideas who share our vision of a better future.

Pitch your ideas for an article, newsletter piece or a social media infographic explainer.

Please note note we are a fully voluntary organisation and all of our work including writing is produced by volunteers and so we are currently unable to offer payment for publication.

Changemakers, leaders and subject matter experts

Share your experiences of creating change and fighting for social and environmental justice

We’re looking for people with experience of social / political change, campaigns and prominent volunteering roles to take part in a mini interview, contribute a personal essay, or speak at one of our events.

By sharing your advice for creating change, you will be helping to inspire and empower a new generation of changemakers to fight for the dreams they have for a greener, more equal society.

Share your insights into what the future could look like – and how we can get there

We’re looking for people who work in the field of sustainability, environmentalism and climate science, or who are part of creating the solutions for the future.

This also includes people who are working to develop ideas around sustainable practices, policies and solutions, such as economists, psychologists, and civil servants.

We’d love to hear about your ideas for the future of our society, or about how your work might achieve its aims and become part of our collective future. This can be through an interview, mini essay, or a speaker slot at one of our events.
